  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (60-70% cocoa), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, sprinkles, white chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Ensure they are completely dry to help the chocolate stick.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-20 second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler over low heat.
  3. If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to the melted chocolate for a glossy finish.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem or use a toothpick, and dip it into the melted chocolate. Swirl gently to coat evenly, then lift and let the excess chocolate drip off.
  5. If using toppings, sprinkle or roll the dipped strawberry in your choice of toppings before the chocolate sets.
  6. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let them cool at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate sets completely.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent the chocolate from seizing. Use room-temperature strawberries for the best results. Work quickly when dipping and decorating as chocolate sets fast.
