Strawberry Jam Cookies

Strawberry Jam Cookies

Strawberry jam cookies are a timeless treat that combines the buttery goodness of a classic cookie with the fruity sweetness of strawberry jam. Perfect for any occasion, these cookies are easy to make and universally loved.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create an indentation in the center of each dough ball.
  8. Fill each indentation with a small amount of strawberry jam.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a twist, try using different flavors of jam like raspberry or apricot. Ensure the butter is softened for easier mixing, and avoid overfilling the indentations with jam to prevent overflow during baking.
